What is Steel production?
Steel is the backbone of the global economy and one of the most versatile materials used in construction, automotive, engineering, energy and other sectors. Its strength, ductility and durability make it indispensable in building infrastructure, machinery and innovative technologies. Steel production is a complex, high-tech process that involves the extraction of raw materials, smelting, processing and forming of final products. The prepared raw materials are loaded into blast furnaces, where smelting takes place at high temperatures (around 1500°C). The interaction of ore with coke and limestone produces pig iron, which contains a large amount of carbon and impurities.

The modern steel industry is actively innovating, which makes it even more attractive for investment. Companies are developing green steel technologies, using hydrogen instead of coal to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, and are introducing electrode furnaces powered by renewable energy sources. In addition, automation and digitalization of processes increase production efficiency, minimize costs and improve product quality. One of the characteristics of steel is its ability to be fully recycled without losing its properties. More than 70% of steel today is produced from scrap metal, making it an important part of the circular economy. Steel recycling reduces production costs, energy consumption and environmental impact, which is in line with global sustainable development goals.
